Even though Dr. de Bruin takes great care and strives to deliver painless injections, some people are inherently nervous at even the thought of a needle. If you or a loved one shudders with anxiety at even the mention of the word "dentist," we have a simple solution.
One hour prior your appointment, you take a pill that we have dispensed to you. It will allow you to reach a level of sedation that permits you to answer questions but essentially sleep through your complete visit. This is perfect for fearful people or those who have a demanding schedule and who want to get all their treatment done in a single visit.
"Laughing gas," how most people describe nitrous oxide sedation, is often used to acquire a more desirable treatment comfort level. Inhaled through a mask, this kind of sedation introduces the medication into your body by permitting you to simply breathe the compound in. Then a state of relaxation is induced. Local anesthetic will be administered in addition to nitrous oxide to avert any pain in most cases.
The first computer-controlled local anesthetic system permits Dr. de Bruin to accurately anesthetize a single tooth in only a couple of minutes, whereas standard anesthetic can take 8 to 12 minutes. Both types of anesthesia last the same amount of time. Just one injection at the site of a tooth with The Wand is all that's required to numb a specific area. This is a more exact and safer distribution of anesthesia that holds far more appeal than dispensing an anesthetic that deadens your entire lip. This technology has been clinically proven to provide a pain-free injection.
When a patient departs the dental chair after routine procedures, they are often "numb" for 3 to 5 hours. It's awkward to talk or eat when your face and lips feel "fat." What if that didn't have to occur anymore? We are excited to offer our patients OraVerse™. This outstanding product reverses the anesthetic after your treatment is completed. In approximately fifteen minutes you're back to normal. So, if you dread being numb for hours after your treatment – we can take care of that for you!
